Terms of Service

Welcome to ChargeUps. By creating an account or using the ChargeUps app or website (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

ChargeUps is a peer-to-peer marketplace based in New Zealand that connects electric vehicle drivers ("Drivers") with people who share their home or business EV chargers ("Hosts").

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use ChargeUps. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

3. The marketplace

• ChargeUps does not own or operate the chargers listed on the Service.
• Hosts are solely responsible for the safety, condition, and legal compliance of their charger and location.
• Drivers are responsible for using chargers safely, correctly, and only during the booked window.

4. Bookings and payments

• Payments are processed by Stripe. ChargeUps deducts a service fee from each booking.
• Hosts receive payouts through Stripe Connect once a session completes.
• Refund and cancellation policies for each charger are shown at booking time.

5. Prohibited use

• Do not use the Service for illegal, unsafe, or fraudulent activity.
• Do not tamper with, damage, or misuse another user's charger, vehicle, or property.
• Do not attempt to bypass fees or take payment outside the platform.

6. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent allowed by New Zealand law, ChargeUps is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or from interactions between users.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
